This website was originally intended to keep alive the memory of those men of Kinver who made the ultimate sacrifice in both the Great war and the Second World War. I have since been given several cuttings from the County Express and have been able to put together a Roll Of Honour of those Kinver men who took part in the Great war. This includes both those who died and those who returned. The eventual aim is that you will be able to click on the name of a casualty and be taken to a page dedicated to him with more details. The current website is only the basic start and is a work in progress. Hopefully photographs of many of the final resting places of them or their names on the memorials commemorating them will be included. This will take some time and as they stretch from those in Kinver to Edward Bragger in Kanchanaburi War Cemetery it may not be possible to cover all of them. Much of the information is in this Open Office spreadsheet KINVERMEMORIAL Information has been obtained from The Commonwealth War Graves Commission , Western Front Association , Forces War Records , Ancestry and the Kinver Historical Societies booklet “Kinver's own Heroes”. I have also received assistance from fellow members of the Kinver and Enville branch of the Royal British Legion. Any photographs, information or corrections will be gratefully received.
